Sarah Powell
Speech and Language Therapist

Sarah is a newly qualified speech and language therapist. She completed her Masters of Science in Speech and Language Therapy at Birmingham City University. At Ulster University, she achieved first class honours in Language and Linguistics with counselling, with 2 Deans Lists awards. Her dissertation on the psycholingustics of second language acquisition was shortlisted for the "Outstanding Dissertation Award" with the Linguistics Association of Great Britain in 2020.
Sarah was the lead Speech and Language Therapist at a mainstream school with a resource base for children with Developmental Language Disorder. She has volunteered for the "Language Made Fun" program, established by Barnardos NI and the Ulster Centre on Multilingualism, which supports multilingual migrant children in Northern Ireland with their language needs whilst promoting maintenance of a child's home language.
Sarah has experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in mainstream and specialist schools. Further, she has worked with adults with autism spectrum disorder and complex needs detained under the Mental Health Act.
